Vicky Frausto is a newly elected member of the Sunnyside City Council serving her first term as of January 2024.
She was born and raised in Sunnyside, WA. She is a first-generation daughter of immigrants and is the youngest of 6 siblings. Her humble upbringing set the foundation for her bold passion for advocacy work throughout her career.
She graduated Sunnyside High School in 2009, obtained an Associates of Arts from Yakima Valley Community College, double Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, American Ethnic Studies, and a minor in Diversity from the University of Washington, and a Master’s in Public Administration and Governance from Seattle University.
Vicky has 6 years of professional experience working for the University of Washington Human Resources: Labor Relations, Professional Organizational Development. She is part of the Sunnyside School District, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, Lion’s Club, Sunnyside Development Corporation, YVCOG and a part of various community engagements.
Vicky is deeply committed to bringing innovation to the council, meaningful representation that reflects our community at-large, and truly invest in the essence of this town.
